He approaches the article by rightly arguing that this isn't about just IT or Marketing, it is in fact about about the whole business and as he states. "Breaking down siloes and giving the customers an experience in a frictionless way."
I realise that for many companies, large and small, that "fixing the airline engine, while the plane is flying" tends to be put in the "too hard" box. But as Business leaders, we have a duty to have answers for both our shareholders and our employees.
Digital transformation is the tearing down of silos within a business. This would include siloed data, technologies, marketing and operation functions, processes and resources to more efficiently and effectively conduct business in an effort to positively impact customer experience, business decisions and all levels of company processes and metrics in today’s digital environment.
